This is an ultrasound based technology that is used to cause controlled micro injury to deeper layers of skin where collagen and elastin fibres are manufactured. The tissue is heated to 40℃ using RF . This causes the body’s natural healing process to be activated i.e. production of new fibroblasts that then form new collagen and elastin fibres over the coming weeks. The fact that the ultrasound RF waves bypass the surface of the skin leads to avoidance of pigmentation and peeling issues which are a known side effect of laser treatment to this effect. The treatment is available at our clinic in Weybridge, Surrey, call today to book your consultation on 01932 706402
It will involve the circular movements that feel like a warm massage using the radiofrequency head of the device. The temperature is checked intermittently to ensure that we are reaching the 40℃ target temperature.
The session time can vary depending on which part of the face or body is being treated. As stand-alone treatment it can be 45 min to an hour as combination with body sculpting it is carried out for 20-30 min.
Treatment protocols consist of 6-8 weekly sessions of the decided duration.
There is no downtime as such and you can return to your daily activities. You must always wear SPF 50 to avoid any inflammation and chance of pigmentation. Avoid direct sun and heat exposure for next 4 weeks or so.
RF is a safe treatment but like all treatments there are certain absolute contraindication such as pregnancy, lactation etc. You will be advised about the most suited treatment at the time of your consultation.
