A HIFU treatment is a non-invasive skin treatment, which eliminates fat cells and stimulates the body to produce collagen and elastin.
How Does It Work?
This treatment is a two-pronged approach:
High-energy ultrasound delivers energy into subcutaneous fat at different depths: 6mm, 9mm and 13mm. This causes localised destruction of fat cells at precise tissue depths, which enables the practitioner to sculpt an area, without damaging surrounding tissue or skin. The fat is then naturally expelled from the body. The natural healing response of the body allows non fat cells to regenerate and join together to fill the gaps left by the destroyed fat cells.
The ultrasound also stimulates the body’s production of collagen and elastin. During the natural aging process these can become depleted, causing dry, crepey skin and wrinkles. Over a period of three months, which is the time it takes for levels of collagen to increase, a noticeable difference in skin tone and texture is achieved, along with significant reduction of deep lines and sagging skin.
Who Will Benefit the Most?
Are you generally fit and active, with mild to moderate skin laxity and stubborn pockets of fat? Suited for male or female of any age, but people who are significantly overweight or obese should seek alternative treatment.
Why Does It Work So Well?
HIFU is a non-invasive procedure that works with your body’s natural resources. It only takes around 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the area worked on. There are no incisions, no scarring and no required rest or recovery time. You can go back to your normal activities immediately. A course of three to six treatments is recommended per area for optimum results. Every two years you may require a top up course of treatment as the natural aging process catches up with you.
How to Get the Most Benefit From HIFU
HIFU can work alongside and compliment other treatments, but should not be seen as a quick fix or a replacement for the following healthy lifestyle choices: eat more naturally with less processed foods, drink plenty of water, get good quality sleep and rest, take exercise and practice one of our skin care routines.
